At one time, senior citizens were referred to as "old folks" and the "elderly". Now Seniors are a fully functioning part of our society, bringing a new perspective to almost all areas of daily life. In days gone by, your 65th birthday usually meant retirement, and a less-than-desirable place on the shelf of society. Currently, more senior citizens are employed or self employed than ever before. This does present a new dynamic in the healthcare field, from insurance to emergency care.
